Mirant Corporation

Running a power generation facility requires a high degree of scientific and technical knowledge, mechanical ability, precision, personal accountability, and specialized expertise in a range of disciplines. The people behind Potomac River Generating Station are among the most capable and committed in this industry.

Much of our staff consists of employees who have spent many years — even decades — at this plant or at other Mirant Mid-Atlantic facilities. Each member of our operations team is trained in multiple skills, giving them a broader view of plant operations that facilitates decision making, problem solving and efficiency — with increased accountability.

Part of the job is being prepared for the unexpected. Potomac River employees go through ongoing emergency response training so they can be ready to respond instantly to any event.
