A Message from Plant Manager Mike Stumpf:

At Mirant, we are serious about our community responsibility, and are committed to providing the region with clean, safe, reliable and affordable energy. As the plant manager of the Potomac River Generating Station (PRGS), the day-to-day plant operations are my personal responsibility and it is my duty to ensure that the plant is run safely with the least impact on our neighbors.

We continually strive to be a good corporate citizen and that extends beyond just running the plant safely. Mirant employees regularly give back to the city through community service projects and charitable contributions.

One component of our community outreach is consistent and open communication with our neighbors and stakeholders. A new community information feature on the site is the Progress Report, which I’ll write and update regularly.

It is important to let the community know what is happening at the plant — and that I am here as your resource to answer any questions or concerns.
